Me talk pretty one day

(Via Gawker via The Moment)

This was too good not to post....students at some school in Vancouver (oh Canada!) put together a bunch of youtube vids so you can hear just how badly you've been mispronouncing Dolce & Gabanna and a ton of other designers.
Listen, laugh, and maybe even learn...

YouTube Memories!

While forking through YouTube in light of the below post, I suddenly remembered mine and P's obsession a little over a year ago with Brad Doggett. Younger than us (thereby making us feel kind of like failures, but hey, who cares), we found his YouTube page during our senior year of college and his a-maz-ing cover of Sweetest Girl by Wyclef Jean. Well, tonight I log into his YouTube page (excuse me, channel), and what do I find but -- gasp -- Lil Wayne covers. What did I do to deserve this reward? Amazing, simply amazing. Check out the cover of Lil Wayne's Mrs. Officer. It's music to my little emo heart (and ears!). Also new since my last YouTube check for him, a self-titled EP on iTunes. Impressive.

Now that you're obsessed too like P and I - Tweet him like I did... honestly did everyone get Twitter before me? I feel so behind the 8-ball.

P.S. Brad, if for any reason you're reading this. Will you hook a girl up with a mp3 of your Wyclef and Lil' Wayne covers? I don't know how much longer I can take not having this stuff on my iPhone!

While looking for new music to replenish my iPhone with, I found this 'Rock Remix' of Kill The Lights by our ever-favorite Britney Spears. I've always been one to love mashups (Anyone remember Jay Z and Linkin' Park? Yeah, that was on repeat for six months of my life). This remix is no different. This remixer slowed the song down, added in some fantastic drums and guitar. I'm obsessed - I maybe might just like this more than the original version... Maybe.

EDIT: The remixer is named Kevin Figueiredo. Pop Culture Paradox reader L pointed me in the direction of his other remixes and I, for one am blown away. Find him on Twitter at http://twitter.com/the401kevin and on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/user/the401drummer
. I'm impressed - and I don't say that all too often.

YouTube Makes The World Go 'Round

As a marketing and trend finding theme, the world of Web 2.0 gave us one of the best inventions ever. YouTube. We all know it. We all love it. And I'm thankful my office hasn't banned it from work computers. My love for YouTube is almost as great as my love for SNL's Andy Samberg. I once told one of my college boyfriends that my love for Andy Samberg might rank him as my #1 favorite Jewish boy (behind the said-boyfriend-at-the-time). Regardless, I find it to be no coincidence that my love for Andy Samberg, the reigning king of the viral video, happens to coincide with my love for YouTube.

With this being said, I give to you my top three, all-time favorite viral YouTube videos (in random order - with most featuring Mr. Samberg). Watch, enjoy - and thank me later if this list saves you from boredom at your job tomorrow.

The Lonely Island - I'm On A Boat.
This video had me at the line, "I got a nautical themed Pashmina afghan."

SNL - Dick In A Box
(Uncensored here)
An oldie but a goodie. Enough said.

Smirnoff Raw Tea Commercial

"'Cause no one's hotter than a New England gangster."
Basically the story of my New England bred life. Oh, and this commercial did it's job. What did I do when I turned 21 a few years ago? Buy Smirnoff Raw Tea. Did I even like it? No. Did I drink it anyway and buy it again? Yes.

My Life Would Suck Without You

I have been a deliquient blogger. I know, and I'm sorry. But you know what they say. Holidays bring the crazy - meaning parties, family issues, gift giving, and hardly no time to breathe. P and I have hardly even talked, and that's saying something because even though we're divided by an ocean or two, we talk everyday - normally. Anyway, then post-holiday, the new year came around, and the new year brought almost breakups, and a severe lack of incentive to write. Anywho I AM BACK, and finally there's something worth writing about.
Here you go loverfaces. Kelly Clarkson's new single. If the YouTube link is dead, sorry, just search it in the box bc it'll be everywhere by the end of the day. I (and my prep school best friend, A) ARE OBSESSED with it (not to mention that I feel a certain emotional link to the lyrics. Maybe K.Clarks and I have similar love life issues). Welcome back, KClarks. Pop music has severely missed you. Let's stay with the 'Since You've Been Gone' era and not slip into that 'My December' era of music that we can just forgive and forget about. K? K.

AMA Performance Roundup

Apparently, according to the gossip blogs this morning, the American Music Awards was on television last night. Did anyone even know it was on? Did anyone even really care? Regardless, I didn't know (and, okay, didn't care that much - all that really matters in the music world are the Grammy's to me for award shows), and was sitting in a car en route back to eastern MA yesterday evening. Did you miss it too? Lucky for you and me, all (I think?) of the performances are available on YouTube.

Check out the links below (thank you YouTube, ONTD & DailyMotion):

Mariah Carey - I Fall In Love
Taylor Swift - White Horse
Miley Cyrus - Fly On The Wall
Beyonce - Single Ladies
JoBros - Tonight
P!nk & Sarah McLachlan - Angel
Leona Lewis - Better In Time
Christina Aguilera - Medley
P!nk - Sober
Rihanna - Rehab
Alicia Keys - Superwoman
NEW ADDITION: NKOTB - Medley

EDITORS NOTE: after watching most of these - if you watch one and only one, have it be the P!nk performance of Sober. I've never been a huge huge fan of hers, but she blows this song out of the water. Also, can someone please tell Xtina that the red lipcolor just doesn't work anymore? Please? Someone? Anyone? Oh and with P's notifying me of NKOTB's performance on the AMA's - everyone, please take a moment out of your day to swoon over Donnie W. with me. K? K.

Happy watching!

All of the boys and all of the girl are begging to if you seek Amy.

While I was going to write a long, in-depth analysis on bromances (and how my boyfriend is so in one right now with a friend), my thoughts got sidetracked by this:

listen, listen, listen to it. i'm more excited than an 8th grader.

if you dont want to take 8 whole minutes out of your life - do yourself a favor and fast forward to around the 5 minute mark. Brit's muchly awaited "If You Seek Amy" has leaked as a clip... I didn't really hear what she was *trying* to say until she says the phrase nice and fast in the chorus. Now i get it....

You're a womanizer.

Sorry everyone. Work has been super busy, and I gots to pay the bills somehow. Despite my lack of a regular blog post today, this is just too important to ignore. I just heard it on KISS108 in Boston and I must say, I like it. It's nothing amazing, but definitely something I can dance to at Estate (or maybe The Monkey Bar, P?). Love it? Hate it? Tell me in the comments!
